The best part about yoga is that it is so limitless, and it can literally do anything that you want it to! Whatever your intention going into it is, you can find means of manifesting this intention, accomplishing goals, deeoening ones practice and commitment, find ones purpose, and so much more. Your practice is always evolving and constantly changing, so as you grow anjd expand, you can adapt you practice to meet your current needs

YOGA ISN'T JUST STRETCHING!
Yoga as Medicine:Before there was laboratories and pharmacies, humans would heal themselves through natural means. Some cultures looked to medicinal plants or healing waters, and others used breath and body movement. By stretching the body we are loosening up the muscles and organs, and by breathing conscious breath into that area, we are actually moving the energy more fluidly through the body. By tuning into the body, we can focus our attention on healing it. This goes for the mind as well. Yoga can clear a cluttered mind and heal a broken heart. Because you are addressing the ailment or mis-alignment from the root cause, and consciously re-wiring the patterns and cells in the body. With a little practice and a bit of commitment, your yoga practice is sure to heal the body, mind and soul.

Yoga as Exercise:Yoga, seen as an Exercise, is gaining popularity in the western world. Aside from a spiritual practice, it can be a great workout with many benefits to the body. Yoga can build strength, tighten and tone the body, build the core (abs), burn calories, increase focus, improve balance, and more. The great thing is that there are so many different styles that you can build your yoga practice based on personal needs and intentions. If you want more strength building, do some arm balances and inversions. If you wish to burn calories, do some vinyasas! There are lots of gyms, studios, and online videos that offer yoga as purely an exercise routine.

Yoga as Spiritual Practice:Yoga is deeply rooted in its spirituality. The ancient yoga of India was purely a spiritual focus. Primarily grounded in meditation, it used a number of techniques to clear the mind and become one with the Divine. There are also lots of ways to altar the breath to reach spiritual states. The physical practice of yoga only came as a way to loosen up the body to prepare for meditation. Adopting a daily yoga/meditation can make a world of a difference and help you to awaken to your purpose, your truth, and your light here on this planet. Yoga as Community:In addition to being a great personal practice, yoga also helps to create community, long-lasting friendships and can build meaningful relationships of all kinds. It brings people together with a common goal: Self Improvement. When we breathe together we feel together and when we move together we love together. This is a powerful way to find like minded individuals in your local area! Many times when we begin our yoga/spiritual journey, we can feel very alone and different from our old friends. Yoga studios, retreat centers, gyms, parks, etc are an excellent way of finding "birds of the same feather."

I dare you to do some yoga!!
I guarantee that if you are reading this page, right here and right now, then you have an interest in yoga to some degree. The only thing thats stopping you is the ego's resistance. I strongly encourage you to give it a try! Go to a local yoga class and test the waters! Give meditation a shot, and see what a world of a difference a daily practice can do for you. You will literally FEEL the results. Sometimes seeing isn't always beleiving, feeling is!
